MTG Arena introduced in-game player reporting with its August 18, 2026, update, giving players new tools to help keep the game’s growing social spaces safe and welcoming.
Where Players Can Report
At launch, reports can be submitted from three locations. The Options Menu now includes “Report Player” at the bottom, beside “Report a Bug.” Players can also find the feature under a player card in the Challenge Lobby, where it appears alongside other social and moderation controls.
The Friends List provides a third option. Players can right-click a friend in the social blade, or long-press on mobile, and select “Report” beside “Unfriend” and “Block.”
After opening the Player Report screen, users choose a reason from a drop-down menu, provide any relevant details, and submit the report. Available categories include inactivity, hate speech, inappropriate usernames, verbal abuse, and spamming.
The categories cover idling or intentionally slow play, racism and other hateful conduct, offensive display names, harassment or harmful language, and activities such as advertising, phishing, solicitation, or repeated messages.
Reports Receive Human Review
Once submitted, players receive confirmation that their report has reached the Customer Service team. Wizards has partnered with GGWP, a moderation platform used across the games industry, to help gather context and organize reports into a review queue.
For this initial release, reports will not be actioned automatically. Each report will be evaluated and handled by a person. As MTG Arena’s social features develop, the team will continue working with GGWP and Customer Service to explore whether automation could assist with clear-cut cases, while more complex situations remain with human reviewers.
